What to know about preventive visits

A few of the things families want to know before their first cleaning. Anything specific to your child, we're happy to talk through directly.

When should my child's first visit be?
The general guidance is by their first birthday, or within six months of the first tooth coming in — whichever comes first. Starting early helps your child get comfortable before there's ever a problem to treat.
How often should we come in for checkups?
Twice a year for most children, though we'll tailor that to what your child actually needs. Regular visits are how small things stay small.
What happens at a routine cleaning?
A gentle cleaning, a check for cavities or developing issues, and a look at how growth and brushing are going. We keep it calm and unhurried, especially for younger kids and first visits.
Do you offer fluoride treatments and sealants?
Yes — both are common parts of preventive care, and we'll talk through whether they make sense for your child at their visit.
What if my child is anxious about the dentist?
Completely normal, and exactly what we're set up for. We go at your child's pace, explain everything in kid-friendly terms, and never rush a visit that needs more patience.
